Hybrid: Hybrid courses include the combination of traditional in-class instruction with computer-based learning and other instructional technologies. Therefore, students will be required to attend live class meetings on campus as scheduled by the instructor, as well as complete work using e-mail, chat rooms, discussion boards, and other instructional tools. These courses are designated as Hybrid in the class schedule.

Student Learning Outcomes: Students will be able to:

  1. Recognize the major hardware components of a microcomputer.

  2. Describe the subdivisions of the CPU (Central Processing Unit) and the process of executing a program.

  3. Describe the three major computer buses: address, data, and system.

  4. Create an organized set of folders, and successfully copy, move, delete, and rename folders and files according to a model assigned by the instructor.

  5. Understand the need for software in the use of any computer.

  6. Discuss the three major types of software: systems, utility, and application software.

  7. Create, format, test, print and document spreadsheets using electronic spreadsheet software.

  8. Create, edit, format, and print a document using a word processor.

  9. Create and maintain a database using a database management system.

  10. Create and maintain a presentation slide show using a presentation management system.
