This picture was taken the summer of 2001 on the back of a ferry travelling from Port Angeles, WA to Victoria, British Columbia.

I have been a part of the Cerritos College family since 1979. I started as a student at the college taking classes and working as a general aide in the Mathematics Learning Center. I transferred to CSUF in 1980. I completed my Bachelor of Arts degree at CSUF just before a position became available at Cerritos College in Computer Services in the fall of 1983. I applied for and was hired in the position of Senior Systems Analyst Programmer. I worked in that position until the Summer of 1999.

While working as a systems analyst/programmer, I returned to CSUF to pursue an advanced degree in Computer Science. I completed my Master of Science degree in 1993 and immediately began teaching programming part-time in the Business Computer Information Systems (now known as Computer and Information Sciences) Department. Initially I taught COBOL (Common Business-Oriented Language) and then transitioned to teaching RPG (Report Program Generator). These days I teach RPG, Advanced RPG, C++, Java, Computer Programming Logic ( CIS 103 ), and a few intro computer classes ( CIS 101- Intro to CIS and CIS 102 - Intro to Micro HW/SW ).

In the Spring of 1999 a full-time faculty position in the Computer and Information Sciences Department was flown. I applied for, was hired, and began teaching full-time in the Fall of 1999.

I like to read, listen to music, go camping, travel, and putter around in my yard. If only I was better at gardening... I also enjoy working with computer hardware, learning about computer operating systems and networking, and exploring the Internet.
